Exchange studies at KTH

Information for incoming students

Exchange student - Erasmus & Nordplus or bilateral agreement for one academic year

Are you an exchange student?
In order to be accepted as an exchange student the applicant must be enrolled at a partner university (see link below) with which KTH, School of Architecture has a written exchange agreement.

Each school has its own criteria when selecting whom to send as an exchange student within the mobility programme. The final decision of acceptance is made by us.

The agreements include only “advanced level” students, normally in their fourth year.
The co-ordinator or contact person at the home university is the one to announce the exchange student.

Exchange students are not expected to have specified obligations in relation to their study program at home. We prefer and recommend students to stay for a whole year and to start in August. A flexibility regarding academic recognition is therefore necessary.

We accept exchange students two times in a year, but we strongly recommend students to come in August
- For the first period August - December - studio projects.
- For the second period starting in January - studio projects

Application and deadline
The application should be returned before:
April 15 for students arriving for the fall semester.
October 15 for students arriving for the spring semester.

Grades & Credits
We use ECTS credits (European Credit Transfer System) but do not have any kind of evaluation system, the only grades given are pass/fail
Fees
There are no fees for registration, tution or language course. However, membership of the Student Union, approximately 400 SEK per year is compulsory.
No scholarships are given

We accept free-movers two times in a year:
