To our hardcore fans – four different concepts

Since we started the project, almost a month ago, we’ve been working with designing a concept for the robot. On Friday we gonna meet Robyn and present four different ideas. And her voice will be decisive. If you’re interested enough, take a read underneath:

 

Function concept: “One Song Dancing Robot”
Description: The Robot is preprogramed to dance “good” to a specific Robyn song. The dance includes predefined movements and visual effects. Could both mean that the robot itself generates the music and uses an external music source.

Key features: Predefined movements, visual effects, design
Not included: Sound detection, real time interaction

Pros:
- The robot will have one really good show for the audience.
- The robot will have a bigger “wow” factor with “good” dancing.
- The robot will easy to use for example on stage, or/and in a video.

Cons:
- The robots lifetime will be shorter.
- Doesn’t have the “human feature”.
- The robot has limited capabilities.

 

“Preprogrammed-through-interface Remotely controlled robot”
Description: The robot movements are decided through a digital interface (possibly drag and drop), flashed to the robot, which dances accordingly.

Key features: Sound distribution, digital interface, choreography
Not included: Real time interaction, Sound detection

Pros:
- The robot has some “human feature” and is organic.
- The fans are included

Cons:
- Few songs
- The robot is user dependent.

 

“Randomized Dancing Robot”
Description: The robot shall be able to dance to random song with random order of preprogramed dance moves. Could both mean that the robot itself generates the music and uses an external music source.

Key features: Sound detection, choreography
Not included: Real time interaction,

Pros:
- The robot has more possibilities with playing more songs.
- The robot has some “human feature” and is organic.
- The Robot is autonomic.

Cons:
- The dance will not be that “good”.

 

“Randomized DJ Jukebox Robot”
Description: The robot shall be able to play and dance to random song with random order of preprogramed dance moves. The robot itself generates the music which can be streamed to external sound system. Fans are able to contribute with music selection wishes.

Key features: Sound detection, Spotify-ish sound source, interaction interface, choreography.
Not included: Real time interaction,

Pros:
- The robot has more possibilities playing more songs.
- The robot has some “human feature” and is organic
- The Robot is autonomic.

Cons:
- The dance will not be that “good”.
