Merry Christmas

Merry Christmas my dear readers! :)

Here is a little fact about Christmas at KTH: Every year before the winter vacation, KTH international student office will hold a Christmas party for international students letting them to have a typical Swedish Christmas party with traditional Swedish Christmas food. I was in the party last year and it was so much fun, also had the chance to meet a lot of new friends. I also heard this year’s KTH Christmas party for international students went very well as well. I hope for those who are coming to KTH next year will remember to attend this special party for you and enjoy the Swedish Christmas party at KTH!

Again, Merry Christmas! Have a good day with loved ones! God Jul :)

By the way, it is my voice over the Chinese version of the video, enjoy :)

Our new blogger Zhenyu will update his blog in Chinese version on our KTH Chinese website. The content in the Chinese version will be a little different from the English version, which is majorly adjusted according to the background of students in China.

Project at companies

I just finished my last course for this semester — actually it is my last course for my master program. I will start my master thesis in coming semester, Yeah!

KTH always try to give students more opportunities and contacts with companies. Other than company visits and guest lectures, there are opportunities to have different projects at companies as well. The last course in my program was a very interesting course — there are 9 projects from 7 companies that are provided from our department, so we can choose one of the projects based on your interests and future career direction. As usual, it is a group work — there are 4 students in each project group. Companies includes ABB, Sandvik, Annas Pepparkakor, etc.

My project was at Annas Pepparkakor — traditional Swedish ginger bread company. Of course we do not make cookies there — after study at the company and interview with employees, we decide our task was to help the company to improve logistical flow and strategies.

I have been studying all the time and have never worked in industry before. And this six weeks project gave me a lot of practical experiences and learnt a lot from the company, my group members as well.

The project end up very well and I am really happy about it as well! I am looking forward to having more opportunities like this and I am sure there will be, of course I will share the experiences here with you :)
