Welcome to inorganic chemistry
Inorganic chemistry is the chemistry of the elements, in particular their coordination chemistry. Active research is found in the interfaces to physics and materials science, to organic chemistry and catalysis, as well as to biochemistry and biomedical applications.
At the division of Inorganic Chemistry research and education in a broad spectrum is pursued; ranging from the coordination of metal ions to organometallic compounds, metal clusters, inorganic polymers and bio-inorganic model systems. The activities comprise both the development of synthetic methods, characterisation of physical, spectroscopic and structural properties in the solid state and in solution. A large number of experimental techniques and theoretical methods are employed in order to elucidate the properties of the compounds investigated. The research project are both fundamental and applied in close cooperation with Swedish industry.
