Mingdi Yan

Guest Professor

Professor Mingdi Yan obtained her B.S. degree in Polymer Physics from the University of Science and Technology of China (USTC) in 1988. After receiving her Ph.D. in Organic Chemistry in 1994 from the University of Oregon, Professor Yan took a position at Ikonos Corporation where her focus was on developing chemical sensors. In 1998, Professor Yan joined the Chemistry department at Portland State University and was promoted to full professor in 2008. She held a joint appointment at the Department of Electric and Computer Engineering at the Oregon Graduate Institute (1998-2004), and was a Guest Professor at the Department of Materials, ETH Zurich (2006-07). In 2011, Professor Yan joined the Chemistry department at University of Massachusetts, Lowell. Her professional activities include serving as a permanent member on the NIH BMBI study section and as a consultant for private companies.
