Hans Edin, Assistant Professor

KTH School of Electrical Engineering,
Electromagnetic Engineering

Hans Edin received M.Sc. and Ph.D. degrees in Electrical Engineering from the School of Electrical Engineering, KTH, in 1995 and 2001 respectively. In 2007 he become an assistant professor in electrotechnical design. He is currently leader of the high voltage engineering and insulation diagnostic group.

His research interest is focused on development on measurement techniques and criteria that can be used to evaluate the status of electrical insulation systems. The research is much focused on in particular high voltage variable frequency diagnostic techniques.
On-going research activities concern: partial discharge diagnostics at variable frequency, combinations of dielectric spectroscopy and variable frequency PD analysis for rotating machine diagnostics, on-line diagnostic methods for water-treed XLPE cables and evaluation of electrical insulating properties of nanocomposite dielectrics.
