| KTH School of Electrical Engineering, Communication Theory Johannes Karlsson was born in Katrineholm, Sweden, on July 6, 1981. He received the M.Sc. degree in Electrial Engineering from the Royal Institute of Technology (KTH) in the summer of 2006. Shortly thereafter he joined the Communication Theory Lab where he is now working towards a PhD degree. As part of his PhD studies, he received the Tech. Lic. in Telecommunications in January, 2009. His research interests include joint source-channel coding, distributed source coding, and wireless sensor networks. One of his (low-priority) hobby projects is the realtime audio analysis software jDFT. The picture below is from the streets of Bombinhas (Brazil) and is related to his current research.
