    Radiotjänst AB hävdar att personer som inte betalar radio- och tv-avgift ska omfattas av denna om de har dator, datorplatta eller mobiltelefon som kan ta emot tv-program via internet. Lagen är tydlig, den pratar om uständning och internet stöder inte utsändning.

  • Forskning tränger ut undervisning

    Det debatteras regelbundet om Sverige får någon form av nytta från universitetsforskningen, vilken till största delen är skattefinansierad. Nyttan är i produkterna—nya doktorer och vetenskapliga artiklar— och produktiviteten är god; i det finns inget att debattera. Debatten bör snarare gälla balansen mellan forskning och utbildning och ställa doktorer och artiklar på den ena sidan mot utbildningskvaliteten för de studenter som utexamineras på den andra sidan. Det är nämligen samma personer som ansvarar för forskning och utbildning och arbetstiden går till det som belönas bäst. Extern finansiering belönar forskning på bekostnad av grundutbildningen.

    Nu har KTH-forskare utvecklat ett system för trådlös fildelning och kommunikation som de kallar för Podnet. Syftet har varit undersöka och underlätta sporadisk kommunikation mellan olika enheter, som mobiler, mp3-spelare och surfplattor. Enligt Gunnar Karlsson, professor i kommunikationsnätverk och ansvarig för Podnet, finns det många tillämpningsområden för systemet.

    Five years ago, as a visiting professor at ETH, Professor Gunnar Karlsson of KTH worked with Professor Bernhard Plattner from the Communication Systems Group. That was the starting point of the Podnet project. The general idea is to allow wireless devices to communicate directly, peer-to-peer, without any network infrastructure.
