Program of Excellence in Electrical Engineering

The Doctoral Program in Electrical Engineering has established the Program of Excellence in order to facilitate recruitment of outstanding students and to encourage excellence in doctoral studies and research. It is intended to reward the recruitment of candidates of the highest standard, whose achievements and performance, in depth and breadth, are overall of an excellent quality.

A call for nominations is sent out twice a year, and faculty members are invited to nominate excellent prospective students, whom they hope to recruit, and also new doctoral students who qualify.

The Executive Committee of the Doctoral Program reviews the nominations and chooses successful candidates. The laboratory or department of the main advisor of each successful candidate will be awarded a lump sum of 1 million Swedish kronor, to be used for the support of the doctoral student chosen for the Program of Excellence.
