Head of the lab
The Communication Theory Lab is headed by Prof. Mikael Skoglund, who was appointed to the Chair in 2003. Dr. Skoglund has his research interests in information theory, source and channel coding and statistical signal processing. Since 2009 he is also the Assistant Dean of Electrical Engineering.
For more information, please refer to Skoglund's personal web-page.
Since 2003 the Lab has grown considerably, and in 2008 Prof. Lars Rasmussen joined to strengthen the senior faculty. As junior faculty members, there are at present three assistant professors, Ragnar Thobaben, Tobias Oechtering and Ming Xiao.
We have developed a strong research program, based on a large project portfolio. For further information about our activities, please refer to our research.
Our activities have received positive feedback in several different forms, most notably Communication Theory was mentioned as one of KTH's strongest activities in the RAE performed in 2008.
