Biography

Yusak Susilo is Associate Professor at the Department of Transport Science, at the Royal Institute of Technology, Stockholm. His main research interest is to understand the way individuals compose their daily travel patterns and the interaction of such patterns with changes in activity location, urban form, policies and socio-demographic factors. His research themes include activity based analysis, transport emissions and energy consumption, public attitudes and learning processes toward new transport policies and technologies, children travel and health and transportation in developing countries.

He received his doctoral degree from the Department of Urban Management, Kyoto University, Japan. Before joining KTH, he has been a post-doctoral research fellow at the Delft University of Technology, the Netherlands, and worked as a senior lecturer in transport and spatial planning at the Centre for Transport and Society at the University of the West of England, Bristol, United Kingdom. He is a member of the Travel Behaviour and Values (ADB10) of the US TRB and a member of the International Scientific Committee (ISC) of EASTS, and served as an executive committee member of the UK Universities' Transport Study Group (UTSG) and the US TRB Transport and Land Development (ADD30) Committee.
