Humboldt Prize Goes to Professor Bo Sundman

Bo Sundman, professor in Computational Thermodynamics at KTH, has received the 2012 Humboldt Research Award.
Sundman, who did his PhD under the supervision of Mats Hillert at KTH in 1981, has worked on thermodynamic modelling and applications in Sweden, France, Germany, the United States, Japan and China.
The Humboldt Research Awards are granted in recognition of researchers who have made significant and fundamental discoveries in their disciplines. Winners are invited to spend up to a year cooperating on a long-term research project with colleagues at a research institution in Germany. The project inspires and cultivates international scientific cooperation.
In August, Sundman will be hosted by ICAMS/SKTS, the Interdisciplinary Centre for Advanced Materials Simulation, department for Scale Bridging Thermodynamic and Kinetic Simulation during a visit to the Ruhr-Universitaet Bochum. He says he “is looking forward to future challenges and rewards.”
