Centre of Excellence in Higher Education in 2009

In 2009, four units submitted applications to Högskoleverket (Swedish National Agency for Higher Education) with a view to being recognised as Centres of Excellence in Higher Education. The International Review Panel was entrusted with the task of assessing these applications.

Excellence in Higher Education

The Panel recommend the University Chancellor to honour The School of Computer Sciences and Communication at the Royal Institute of Technology (KTH) as a Centre of Excellence in Higher Education 2009. CSC was the last – at least for the foreseeable future - recipient of the award. In the report the International Review Panel writes:

"There is a well-developed system for continuous improvement, well-defined development plans in the medium term and a clear vision for the future. In the School, a wide strategic vision at management level acts in complement with the pragmatism of the academic staff. The application from the School of Computer Science and Communication, including site visit, has provided convincing evidence that it is a centre of quality, offering excellence in both teaching and learning."
