About Information retrieval and learning
The goal of Information retrieval and learning is to:
- Make sure that all students at KTH understand where and how to find the most relevant information for their studies or research.
- Students should also be able to use information in a professional manner, this includes source criticism and reference management.
Our longterm goal is to make courses in information retrieval mandatory for all KTH students. This will make students better prepared to cope with their studies at KTH, helping them find different sources of information. This will make the students better equiped to meet the industry requirements to continually find the information necessary for solving problems in their line of work, which should make the students more attractive in the labor market.
This is possible for the department of Information Retrieval and learning since it posesses a unique subject and system expertise.
