About Acquisitions
Acquisitions provides and maintains a wide range of scientific information as a support for research and education at KTH. We also buy scientific e-journals, e-books and databases and we’re responsible to make the material available in an efficient way. The library also acquires printed material based on user needs.
Ever since the library acquired its first electronic journal in the beginning of the 1990’s, our work has progressed at a rapid speed. The access of e-resources for the users at KTH increases all the time and is now around 95% of the media budget which amounts to circa 28 million SEK.
The library, through Acquistions, provides hundreds of databases, ten thousands of scientific e-journals and hundreds of thousands of e-books. The resources are available for researchers and students at KTH and the usage increases for every year. The public can also take advantage of our resources for private non-commerical use via so-called walk-in-use, which means a visit to the Main Library or one of our branch libraries.
