About Publication Infrastructure
The Departmen of Publication Infrastructure (PI) works primarily with issues related to publishing, publication accounting and bibliometrics. Our ambition is to be a support for KTH researchers and other employees within these areas.
PI manages The KTH publication database DiVA, which makes KTH research visible. It contains all publications (journal articles, books, reports, conference papers etc.) published by KTH researchers. In addition, all doctoral and licentiate theses, student theses and reports are published in DiVA.
The department engages in issues regarding new publishing traditions, especially the question of Open Access publishing. We are therefore able to help with advice and guidance with for example parallel publishing.
PI is also working with bibliometrics. For KTH management and schools, we perform various bibliometric analyses, for example for the KTH RAE (Research Assessment Exercise), the yearly indicator report and for the bibliometric part of the resource allocation. We are also building a bibliometric database where advanced bibliometric analyses can be performed. With this database, we can also conduct research on bibliometric methods and use bibliometrics for different research purposes.
PI is responsible, on behalf of the Swedish Energy Agency and the Swedish Radiation Safety Authority, for the Swedish contribution to the energy databases ETDEWEB World Energy Base and INIS.
