Placement test
No more than 2 hours (uninterrupted) may be used for this test and the test will not be considered valid unless you complete all 3 parts of the test.
When you already know some Swedish and apply directly for a course level which requires previous knowledge of Swedish, you must complete the placement test before applying to ensure that your intended choice of level is correct.
There are four Swedish course levels. These are the recommended scores for each level:
| Score | Recommended level |
|---|---|
| 0–20 | Elementary (Beginners) |
| 21–50 | Advanced beginners |
| 51–80 | Intermediate |
| 81–100 | Advanced |
Make sure that you have a modern computer, a fast modem and an updated web browser. The test is divided into three parts: A, B and C and you must do all three to the best of your ability. Do not use any aid since that will only result in a test result that is too good and which will cause you to get placed on a level that is too advanced for you. We may not be able to move you to a lower level later. It takes about two hours to do the test and the result of the test will guide you in your choice of course level. A copy of the result will also simultaneously be sent to our course administration. NB. Anonymous tests and incomplete tests will not be accepted.
