Master's Degree Project at Electrical Energy Conversion

E2C offers both internal and external MSc thesis projects.

Internal projects cover a relevant task in our current research. The work is carried out at the department and we will appoint a supervisor to guide you in the work.

External projects are carried out in cooperation with a company. You will then solve a company-specific problem with supervision from someone at the company. You will also have a supervisor from E2C, but normally the day-to-day supervision will be provided by the company.

If you are interested in doing your MSc thesis at E2C please have a look on the available projects, which can be found in the menu on the left. You can also find project suggestions from companies or from the notice board at the entrance of Teknikringen 33.

If the suggested projects are in the fields of electrical machines and power electronics you should then contact us to see if we can accept the project and supervise you. There are some requirements to be able to start your MSc project depending on the program you are enrolled in. In general, you need to have gathered a certain amount of credits and we require that you have passed both courses EJ2200 and EJ2300, as well as one of the courses EJ2210, EJ2221, EJ2400, EJ2410, EJ2310 or EJ2311.

To get an idea what a MSc thesis at E2C could be about, have a look at some examples of earlier MSc theses:

The MSc theses at our division cover different interesting topics. However, they are divided into the two main topics, either "Electrical Machines and Drives" (EJ210X) or "Power Electronics" (EJ211X):

EJ210X Master's degree project in electrical machines and drives, 30 hp

EJ211X Master's degree project in power electronics, 30 hp
