Graduate Education in Electrical Energy Conversion

Interested in joining E2C?

E2C welcomes new graduate students. You will receive a profound education that makes you equally attractive in industry as well as in academic research. We can offer both experimental and theoretical studies. The group is very international, but even though the comlete PhD eduction can be done in English, we strongly encourage you to learn Swedish.

PhD students at E2C have salaried positions. The education includes advanced courses at KTH or at foreign universities (individual program agreed with your head supervisor), but the major effort is the work in research projects. Up to 20% of the time may be spent in teaching and other work for the department. Graduate studies at E2C can carry you either to a Licentiate's degree (120 hp) or to a Doctor's degree (240 hp). Typically the PhD education takes four to five years, but this varies depending both on the student in question and on the projects they are working on.

A look at the list of current research projects (link to the right) shows the multi-disciplinary nature of our research. The requirements for admission are thus not completely fixed but may depend on the project that we have in mind. However, a strong educational background with a M. Sc. with good grades in the relevant subjects, good communication skills including good knowledge of English and finally a strong commitment are firm requirements.
