Awarded thesis projects
Several of the previous Master's Degree projects have received prizes, resulted in patented inventions, products, and some results have been published at international scientific conferences.
Oscar Blomkvist received the 2006 ITT Flygt masters thesis scholarship for his thesis "Loop monitoring and assessment of hot strip mill control".
Andreas Blomqvist received an honourable mention at TietoEnator's Telecom Prize award in 2005 for his thesis on adaptive algorithms for 3G.
Markus Ringström received a TelecomCity Prize, 2003, for his thesis project Transmit Diversity and the High Speed-Downlink Shared Channel performed at Ericsson.
Per Ekstrand received Albihn's scholarship 2000 for a thesis in the field of sound compression. The project led to an invention and patent applications were submitted in several countries.
Tomas Andersson's Master thesis project in 1999 resulted in a product: a CAU simulator which now is included in Adtranz's portfolio. Tomas continued with PhD studies at the Signal Processing Lab, and he received the PhD degree in 2005.
Tommy Carlsson received a TelecomCity Prize, 1999, with the motivation "... to the thesis project showing an innovative solution to a current problem in the field of wireless communication ...".
Patrik Sörqvist received in 1995 the Albihn's scholarship which is given to "... the student, which during the last year has been most creative ...". Swedish patent 506.034. Patrik became Director of IP Technology at Global IP Sound AB.
