Dr. Gan Zheng visits the Signal Processing Lab

Published Sep 02, 2009

We want to welcome Dr. Gan Zheng as a visiting researcher at the Signal Processing Lab during the fall 2009. He received the B. Eng. and the M. Eng. from Tianjin University, Tianjin, China, in 2002 and 2004, respectively, both in Electronic and Information Engineering, and PhD degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from The University of Hong Kong (HKU), Hong Kong, in 2008. He has been working as a Research Associate at the Adastral Park Campus, University College London since December 2007.

His research interests are in the general area of signal processing for wireless communication systems, algorithms design and analysis, and applications of numerical methods in communications. Special research interests include:

  • Cooperative communications and networks
  • Cognitive radio
  • Transceiver design for multiuser multiple-antenna (MIMO) systems
  • Robust transmit and receive beamforming design against channel estimation error
  • Channel estimation and training design for MIMO systems
  • Distributed implementations and algorithms
  • Convex optimization theory applied to communication systems
  • Monte Carlo methods applied to communication systems
