Homework and Small project
There is a mid-term homework and a small project in the course. Both of them are mandatory.
Homework
Homework solutions have to be submitted on a paper copy, hand written. You can discuss the problems with other students, but copying from other solutions is not allowed.
The homework is graded P/F. You pass the moment, if you reach 75%. You receive full points even if your solution has errors, but you have to show a real attempt to solve the problem. Sumbission deadline is November 21, you homeworks have to be submitted at the STEX office. Use the cover below.
Homework grading
We have accepted all submitted homeworks. However, if you have points below 4.5, you need to study much more to pass the exam. Even if you have high points, please, check the solutions below. You can pick up your homework at the lectures and recitations in the coming days.

Project
There is a mandatory small project with submission deadline 2012 January 13. Please find the project description below, also including the instructions. The project is graded pass/fail based on the submitted report.
New parameter values:
The original input parameter values can cause out of memory problems due to the large state space of the Markov Chain. Therefore, please use the values given here. All the other values remain the same.
