Lecture Notes

The course is not based on a specific textbook. For an introduction into SNMP, which covers only a part of the course, we recommend William Stallings: SNMP, SNMPv2, SNMPv3, and RMON 1 and 2, Addison-Wesley Pub Co; ISBN: 0201485346; 3rd edition (1998).

For an introduction into network management for practitioners, we recommend Alex Clemm: Network Management Fundamentals, Cisco Press, 2006. This book holds a good balance between explaining concepts and technology.
