Our activities span the entire field of information technology in its widest sense. We work with both the technical solutions and systems. The research programs cover a broad range of ICT areas from basic research projects to applied research in close co-operation with internationally leading universities and industry.
Our faculty is strong with 37 professors and 28 associate professors and senior lecturers. We undertake research on an internationally advanced level – predominantly in the fields of nanoelectronics, photonics, electronics and computer systems, software technology, communication systems and services. Our teaching staff have long experience and useful industrial and academic networks.
We have identified our research areas. They have the range, volume and quality that constitutes a leading international research environment.
Strategic research platforms
KTH have five joint collaboration platforms
information and communication technology
engineering for medicine and health.
The aim is for these platforms to complement the subject-specific research underway within KTH’s schools. The first two platforms are coordinated by researchers at KTH ICT.
