KTH Innovation supports the commercialization of ideas and research results from KTH´s researchers and students. We offer commercialization support for innovation projects in all stages of the development from a research result or idea to marketable product or service. KTH Innovation is particularly focused on commercialization of new technology and the early stages of the development and verification of the idea.

Free support
KTH Innovation´s services are completely free of charge, independent and confidential. We do not take an ownership stake or equity in your project. For that reason we are always independent and our point of view is always to focus on the best interest of the idea owner. Our goal is to make your idea successful!
Our motto is “Make the winner, not pick the winner”. We do not have a strict selection process; all students and researchers from KTH (and researchers from other universities in the Mälardalen region) are welcome to receive or support. We believe that there are enough hurdles on the way from invention to innovation. We make sure that more people manage to get through it.
We support various types of commercialization i.e. not only startup companies but also for example licensing and other types of company collaborations.
We have a structured process where ideas develop through stages. To make our operation smoother and increase the quality we have a number of tools and processes to develop and assess ideas in a structured manner. Every idea gets a business development coach that follows the project and gives the support needed to move forward.
Our vision is to be the most market oriented innovation support organization in Sweden. This means that we want all ideas to meet the market, i.e. get market feedback already from a very early stage, and finally make a deal with a paying customer.
