Short Bio

Dr. Vendel holds a M.Sc., a Tekn.Lic. as well as a Doctorate in Chemical Engineering from KTH, Royal Institute of Technology. He did his Master’s Thesis work at University of Florida. Dr. Vendel has more than 15 years of industrial experience within strategy, marketing, product management business development and HR. He has held a number of executive positions within the telecommunications/media and process industries. Dr. Vendel is today part time active at the Department for Industrial Economics and Management, Division of Business Development and Entrepreneurship, at KTH, Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm, Sweden, within research and education. He also works as advisor to and holds a number board positions in start-up companies. Dr. Vendel is chairing the Mobile Marketing Research Forum ( momarf.org)

Current Research

The present research aims to map how successful entrepreneurs work in the early phases of a new venture. By getting a better understanding of the real processes, prioritizations and issues are handled, new tools and methodologies may be develop and spread among existing entrepreneurs and well as improving the present entrepreneurial education. By matching different planning approaches and methods to individual needs and environments more effective planning can be achieved. This research will be presented in June 2012 at both Babson College Entrepreneurship Research Conference, Texas, USA, and ICSB 2012, New Zealand.  Dr. Vendel is also involved in research aiming to categorize and isolate success factors within the industries such as ICT and cleantech. In addition, he is involved in projects within the digital marketing and strategy areas.
