Internal combustion engines
Students in the Internal Combustion Engines track in the Engineering Design Master programme, learn to develop engines for energy transformation in vehicle transmission systems, with an efficient aid and support from industrially relevant and state-of-the-art tools and methods.
Internal Combustion Engines is a specialization in the five year programs ("civilingenjörsprogrammen") Machine technique (M), Design and Product realization (P), and Vehicle technique (T).
Internal combustion engine is focused on developing and engineering new and innovative combustion engine concepts in close co-operation with leading industrial enterprises.
The internal combustion engine will be an important part of the society within a reviewable future. The future engines may be independent of fossil fuel. They are engines with combustion process according to otto- and diesel combustion. Fossil fuels will still be the cheapest alternative to produce and to propel vehicles with, but the combustion engines are adaptable and can run on almost anything!
In a near future hybrid vehicles will be dominant with a small combustion engine that produces electricity through a generator. The engine itself will not propel the vehicle directly but it will be needed to deliver energy.
With today’s environment legislation and environmental awareness, the internal combustion engine will have a major role in the future. The industry phases big challenges. This means big investments and many new exciting work opportunities.
If you want to have exciting and secure future where every working day means a new challenge, you are welcome to study and specialize within the field of internal combustion engines.
