Research
My research interest is Software and Systems Engineering for the IT infrastructure (control system, data acquisition, etc.) for synchrotron light sources. I am specifically working for the MAX IV project.
My current interests are
- accelerator facility control systems and IT infrastructures
- requirements engineering
- systems engineering
- development approaches for the software and IT infrastructure of research facilties and comparable facilities
The MAX IV Project
MAX-lab, the Swedish National Electron Accelerator Laboratory for Synchrotron Radiation Research, Nuclear Physics and Accelerator Physics is planning the construction of a new synchrotron light source facility in Lund, Sweden. The new facility, called MAX IV, will be an advanced research facility for several hundred international research groups each year, coming from a variety of natural science research fields. The MAX IV control infrastructure is a large distributed control system, with advanced requirements in the fields of process control and monitoring, real-time systems, data acquisition, data analysis and representation, system integration, and significant system changes throughout the entire life cycle.
MAX-lab and the Embedded Control Systems Research Group at the Department of Machine Design, KTH, Stockholm, are cooperating in the development of an advanced, cost-efficient accelerator and beamline control system and IT infrastructure for the MAX IV facility. The cooperation focuses on the software-related control system features, the control system qualities and the software and systems engineering process.
