INDEK student wins Gold medal and “Best Inventor 2014” award

On Monday, the 6th of October, the KTH/Uppsala University team, consisting of Max Mohammadhassan Mohammadi and Ali Mohammadi won the Gold medal, trophy and the “Best Inventor 2014” award in eHealth at the World’s Digital Health Forum

Max Mohammadhassan is a member of INDEK’s Entrepreneurship and Innovation Management Master of Science Program, while Ali is a KIT and Uppsala University master student (KIC Inno-Energy).

Their invention will help to screen and diagnose several types of diseases including heart disease and cancer at a significantly earlier stage and in a much faster way by using artificial intelligence.

The motivation for receiving this honor was mentioned as inventing a smart service design by utilizing the patient data and combining it quantified-self trend which can be considered as a disruptive innovation in Medicine and Healthcare.

The results were announced at the Life Science Open Innovation Symposium in Paris on Monday, the same day as announcing the Nobel Prize Winner in Medicine.
