Partnership with University of Illinois Urbana Champaign
KTH Royal Institute of Technology is an international university with a high success rate within a large variety of international projects both on the European and global arena. In its aim to develop strategic alliances, KTH has identified the University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign as an important partner in both education and research.
An essential element of the proposed strategic partnership between UIUC and KTH is synergistic and mutually beneficial research collaborations between individual faculty or groups of faculty addressing key areas of strategic importance to the two institutions and their home countries.
To identify concrete opportunities for such collaborations, UIUC and KTH have agreed to jointly organize two bilateral research symposia: the Stage I Research Symposium which was held on the Urbana campus in December, 2010. The Stage II Research Symposium took place at KTH May 4th-6th, 2011.
During the afternoon of May 4th, an open seminar was organized, with
presentations given with good examples of successful international collaborations, and some international institutions brought inspiration to the continued two days’ symposium.
