International student exchange

KTH cooperates with approximately 200 European universities within the Lifelong Learning/Erasmus programme. In addition, bilateral agreements have been signed with approximately 70 institutions worldwide.

KTH cooperates with well-renowned universities worldwide and international students constitute an important part of the student population. Approximately 1500 exchange students choose to come to KTH every year. The majority of the exchange students are from European countries, the rest mainly from partners in Asia, the US and Australia. In addition, KTH welcomes a large number of international master's students. Thanks to the large group of international students, KTH enjoys a multicultural environment. Cooperation with people of different cultural and linguistic backgrounds becomes a natural ingredient in every day life on the KTH campuses.

KTH makes great efforts to welcome international students to Stockholm and KTH. Courses in the Swedish language and culture are offered both as intensive summer courses and during term time. The student union has a well-functioning programme of social activities, which helps to integrate newly arrived students into the daily life of KTH and Stockholm.

Approximately 500 KTH students study abroad every year.
