The Energy Platform

Much of the innovation and creation of new ideas in Sweden takes place in small and medium-sized enterprises (SME). KTH wants to cooperate with these enterprises and has therefore created networks within certain strategic fields of which energy is one of them.

The network is intended to strengthen cleantech as an industry in the Mälardalen region in order to increase the interest for engineering, science and sustainability issues. The region is one of Europe’s most dynamic regions concerning innovation and the research in the region stands for more than 50 % of the research in engineering, medicine and science.

Energy and sustainability issues are an important part in our work at KTH and energy is also one of the interdisciplinary platforms created at KTH. Today we have a global demand for solutions that do not contribute to the greenhouse effect or harm the eco system.

KTH is cooperating with the industry and business sector in many ways and seeks to create near contacts with companies within different areas of engineering and applications. By running and developing networks, KTH can get even better at developing cooperation with companies and to build bridges between the academy and business life.

Through the network the companies are offered assistance with commercial and financial advice, R & D and competence matching.

KTH is collaborating within the energy field together with Stockholms Miljöteknikcenter, SMTC, which is the largest network within cleantech in Stockholm since 2005.
