Patient Safety is an interdisciplinary field and the research is based on a systems perspective on technical work with focus on practitioners and patients. The Patient Safety Division at STH possesses unique competence where technology and healthcare meet.
KTH invests in Patient Safety
The division works with education, research and knowledge dissemination and it represents several competences. It is based on a systems perspective with focus on preventive interventions.
The activities are carried out in collaboration with other divisions at KTH School of Technology and Health, other schools at KTH, as well as other universities and academies.
Education
The contract course Theory and Practice 15 higher education credits starts August 29th 2012. A course in case analysis, according to FRAM, is held May 2nd and 3rd.New courses are being built up, for example a web-based course and a Master’s program.
KTH is developing a dynamic research environment to attract postgraduate students and partners. There is an established Nordic network for research. Scientific advisor Erik Hollnagel is one of the world’s leading safety researchers.
