Double Degree studies abroad!
Double Degree (DD) is a unique opportunity for Masters of Science in Engineering students to study for a longer period of time at one of KTH's prestigious partner universities.
Did you know that you can earn two degrees, one from KTH and one from an exchange university? Double degree studies mean that you earn a Master of Science in Engineering from KTH and the equivalent degree from the exchange host university.
In addition this is extremely rewarding on a personal level. As a DD student you spend a longer period at the host university and gain a new home country and new friends.
Read more about the DD Programme below. In the menu to the left there is specific information on how DD studies are carried out on your programme.
"All the wonderful people you meet, you make friends for life! Living in a different culture is very rewarding, you learn to become more tolerant and realise that things can be done in different ways."
A KTH student on the best thing about DD studies.
High international standard
For several decades the double degree has been regarded as proof that the graduate:
-
Possesses cutting edge competence with degrees from two top universities
-
Has proof of good language skills
-
Possesses considerable international experience
As these are top universities there are also good opportunities to begin working abroad, especially in the host university country. 60% of DD students work abroad at some point during the first few years after graduation.
Programme structure
Most of the KTH DD students study their first 3 or 4 years at KTH and then take a specific specialisation for 2-2.5 years at the partner university. The goal is to earn both degrees in a total period of 5.5 years.
Selection
DD exchange is undertaken with a number of selected universities via special agreements. In order to be nominated students must have achieved extremely good study results at KTH.
Apply to be selected for DD studies in the same way as for normal exchange studies. The last date of application is mid-January every year for the following academic year.
Contact the person responsible for exchange studies at your study counsellor office for more information.
