MATLAB is a high-level technical computing language and interactive environment for algorithm development, data visualization, data analysis, and numeric computation. Using MATLAB, you can solve technical computing problems faster than with traditional programming languages, such as C, C++, and Fortran.
Select “Install using the internet” and press Next.
Read the license agreement, mark “yes” if you accept the terms, and press Next.
If you already have a MathWorks account associated with a KTH email address:
Select “Log in to my MathWorks Account” and provide your MathWorks account login information, and press Next.
Provide the activation key found on the ProgDist page, and press Next (proceed to Step 6).
If you do NOT have a MathWorks account associated with a KTH email address:
Select “I need to create an Account (…)” and press Next (proceed to Step 4).
Provide your registration information, the activation key (also available in the "Media and license download" section ) and press Next to continue. Please note that if you do not use your KTH email the activation will fail.
Follow the instructions to complete the account registration process and proceed with the installation.
Choose the preferred type of installation and press Next.
Specify a destination for the installation and press Next.
Then review all the choices made before proceeding, and if ready press Install to commit.
After the installation, the installer will notify about any requirements if needed. Press Next to continue.
Make sure the “Activate MATLAB” box is checked and press Next.
Then press Next to start the activation process.
Provide your local account login name (the user on your computer for which Matlab is being installed) and press Next to proceed.
Review and make sure all the provided information is correct before you press Activate. It is very important that you specified the correct Windows User Name (case sensitive) in the previous step or else the activation will fail. Press Activate to finalize activation.
Then press Finish to end the Matlab installation
Press "Finish" to complete the activation and end the installation.

To access the installation files, the iso-image must either be burnt on a CD/DVD of appropriate size, or be mounted through a third party application. It is also possible to extract and access all the files on the iso-image using a proper archive managing tool.
ProgDist recommends students to use the free application Virtual CloneDrive (which emulates a CD/DVD player) and "mount" the image.

Due to limitations in MS Internet Explorer, these files can only be downloaded using Firefox, Opera or IE7 (and above).
Matlab needs to be re-activated every year. This can be done by downloading a new "Activation Key" and/or "File Instalation Key" (if such exists) from the "Download and installation instructions" section.
