Academic calendar
The academic year at KTH consists of one autumn and one spring term. Important dates for 2012/13 and for 2013/14 can be found below.
The academic year is divided into two terms. The autumn term starts in late August and runs until the middle of January. The spring term begins in the middle of January and runs until the end of May/beginning of June. The Christmas break is two weeks and the Easter break one week. You can find specific dates in the list below.
Each term consists of two study periods. Each study period comprises seven weeks of scheduled tuition such as lectures, laboratory lessons, etc., followed by one week of examinations free from scheduled tuition. There are also re-examination periods; normally in January, June and August. Each period normally encompasses three or four parallell courses, including laboratory work, lectures and smaller tutorial sessions.

Spring term: January 7, 2013 - May 25, 2013
- Study period 3: January 11 – March 8, 2013
- Examinations: March 11 – March 16, 2013
