Master's programme in Wireless Systems
The last twenty years have seen mankind enter an unprecedented age of communication and connectivity. The Internet and mobile phone technologies are now ubiquitous tools for many of us, but vital, cutting-edge advancements in the field are continually necessary. It is with this in mind, that the Master’s programme in Wireless Systems aims to equip next-generation specialists in this continually evolving field.
Wireless Systems at KTH
Taught in English, the programme is based around three areas of study, covering the fundamentals of digital and radio communications. From there, students may choose to focus on Information Transmission, Wireless Networks or Multimedia Signal Processing. A broad selection of courses within each of these tracks allows students to create a customised degree programme depending on their specific area of interest and career objectives.
In addition to the technical aspects of the coursework, there are also many non-technical classes offered, such as project management and leadership, and technical English.
The two-year Master’s programme in Wireless Systems allows students to take advantage of KTH’s well-established international reputation in this area, by offering a thorough education and excellent opportunities for future work in research and the industry. KTH’s close connections with research and industry leaders like Ericsson, Huawei and the European Institute of Innovation and Technology, mean that students will most likely do their thesis in an environment that will benefit a career progression after their degree.
Some students from the programme continue with their education after graduating, with a few procents beginning their PhD in Sweden or abroad. A majority of graduates almost always find work in research and development at many of the world’s major manufacturers and operators in the communications field.
Wireless Systems will continue to be pivotal in how our societies operate, and KTH will play an important role by providing the talent and creativity for the future.
