EIT Master's programmes in Energy and ICT
Looking for a master's programme that combines excellent education with creative entrepreneurship? The EIT master's programmes, several of which are offered through KTH, do just that.
The European Institute of Innovation and Technology - EIT, sits at the crossroads of research, industry and education, providing students with cutting-edge experience at the flourishing intersection of industry and academia. KTH offers EIT master's programmes in the fast-growing fields of sustainable energy and information and communication technology. These programmes are given by Knowledge and Innovation Communities – KICs, the operational part of EIT which puts the innovation into practice. KTH is taking part in two Knowledge and Innovation Communities; EIT ICT Labs and KIC InnoEnergy.
Double degree reward
Students attending EIT programmes study at two of Europe's most prominent technical universities, earning a well-reputed double degree. Such notable international experience is highly valuable in today's job market, and attractive to EIT's affiliated companies.
Industry driven education
Internships, corporate networks and individually tailored study projects are integrated aspects of the EIT programmes. They are offered in close collaboration with leading companies and focus on promoting entrepreneurship and fuelling industry with innovation and creativity.
Knowledge and Innovation Communities
EIT ICT Labs
EIT ICT Labs offers a variety of ICT-related majors at 20 acclaimed technical universities in eight European countries. Leading ICT companies are closely linked to each education programme. The aim is both to create value for academia and to spur innovation that will benefit industry.
Majors available
The majors available through KTH are:
- Digital Media Technology (DMT)
- Distributed Systems and Services (DSS)
- Embedded Systems (ES)
- Human Computer Interaction and Design (HCID)
- Internet Technology and Architecture (ITA)
The majors available through other partner universities are:
- Security and Privacy (SaP)
- Service Design and Engineering (SDE)
Each major includes a technical competence base and a specialisation in areas such as Computing in the Cloud, Smart Energy Systems or Digital Cities of the Future.
Students work closely with industry with a particular focus on entrepreneurship. One semester is spent on a minor in Innovation and Entrepreneurship.

InnoEnergy
InnoEnergy provides a new type of education in the field of sustainable energy. The master's programmes give their graduates a deep understanding of the world's energy challenges – and significant insight into how energy businesses are created.
