Working during studies
This page contains job-hunting tips for students who are interested in working part-time during their studies. Foreign students with a residence permit for studies are allowed to work in Sweden during their period of study. No additional work permit is needed. However, students from outside the EU/EEA who wish to stay in Sweden to work after completion of their studies need to contact the Migration Board for more information.
Finding a part-time job
Finding a part-time job in Stockholm can be quite difficult, especially if you do not speak Swedish. However, there are ways that may increase your chances in finding a job. You can for example send your CV via e-mail or hand it out in person to companies or organisations your are interested in working at. Putting up ads on notice boards with information on what you can help out with is another way. There are usually a lot of job ads at the public libraries, so it might be a good idea to have a look at their notice boards.
Tuition fee paying students have a limited possibility to get a part-time job at KTH (this does not apply to scholarship holders or students holding a tuition fee waiver). However, since the number of part-time jobs is very limited only a few students will get this opportunity. Regardless if you get the chance to work at KTH or not, you need to make sure that you will be able to support yourself during your stay in Sweden. The jobs that KTH has offered students so far has mainly been at specific occassions rather than regularly.
If you are a tuition fee paying student and are interested in this opportunity, please e-mail your CV to: studyadvisor@kth.se.
