In a workshop format where the audience get's to discuss and ask questions I will address the burning issue of plagiarism in higher education. Since the KTH rules requires examiners to check both Bachelor/Master theses and Lic/PhD theses for signs of plagiarism, we will look at what these rules require of you. I will show how to use Turnitin to check for textmatching, and in two case studies we will discuss what types of text overlap is permissible and what should be reported to the disciplinary committee. Finally I will come with some suggestions on how to work to avoid plagiarism in these types of student work. Both examiners/supervisors and PhD students are welcome to a workshop in English.
