Research at RS Lab
The laboratory is conducting research and provides courses and thesis projects within the areas of mobile and personal communications systems and services. The group has a strong track record in radio resource management including multi-operator and multi-radio access techniques, relaying and cooperative communication. We continue to research in these areas, however the research focus is shifting to our new areas, where technical system design is tightly coupled with business and regulatory requirements:
- Architectures and protocols for future mobile networking
- The Economics of Wireless Systems and Services - including infrastructure architecture, deployment strategies, cost and business models for future wireless systems
- Dynamic Spectrum Management and Cognitive Radio Systems
- Energy Aware Wireless Systems design- ranging from low energy wireless access to extreme low power sensor network
