Welcome to this course in methods for automated Information Retrieval!

This is a course in Computer Science focusing on basic theory, models, and methods for Information Retrieval in very large data sets.

In the course you will learn about basic and advanced techniques for information systems: information extraction; efficient text indexing; indexing of non-text data; Boolean and vector space retrieval models; evaluation and interface issues; structure of Web search engines.

News will be posted in the page "News feed" in the menu to the left. Please pose all questions about assignments etc there as well, and we will try to respond as timely as possible, making it possible for other students to see the answers.
