Learning outcomes

The course is analysing trends within contemporary international architecture and discusses them in relation to formal aspects, technical and structural solutions, political and social factors and other cultural forms.

On completing the course, students will have a good overview of the contemporary international architecture of today, its development, problems and possibilities.

Course main content

A series of lectures and seminars deals with different aspects of contemtprary international architecture. We investigate the roles of critics and icons of architecture and we study the spaces where social and political norms are created or questioned through architecture.

The course consists of a series of lectures and seminars by different lecturers, where each sesssion deals with a specific theme.

Requirements for final grade

To obtain the grade passed on the whole course, fulfilled assignment (MOM1) and 75% active attendance at lectures and seminars (MOM2) are required.
