Learning outcomes

The objective of the course is to strengthen the knowledge of architecture in the Nordic countries, its local characteristics and main actors as well as to inform about the relationship between architecture, society and the history of ideas.

Course main content

The course presents Nordic architectural history with a focus on 20th century Sweden. By studying a number of especially influential works of architecture from different periods architecture as art form and societal phenomenon is investigated.

Disposition

The course consists of a series of lectures, seminars and excursions.

An individual assignment is included in the course.

Eligibility

7,5 hp högskolestudier samt Svenska B/Svenska 3 och Engelska A/Engelska 5.

  • MOM1 - Lectures and Seminars, 5.0 credits, grade scale: P, F
  • MOM2 - Assignment, 2.5 credits, grade scale: P, F

Requirements for final grade

The course consists of two moments: MOM1 (Lectures and seminars, 5hp, grade P/F) and MOM2 (Assignment, 2,5 hp, grade P/F).

To obtain final grade, both moments have to be passed, and 80% attendance at all tuition is required.
