Content and learning outcomes

Course contents

The degree project shall cover an interesting problem within media technology.

The student shall, alone or together with another student, independently carry out a project. Work is normally assigned to a workplace outside KTH. Students work under the supervision of a KTH tutor and of a tutor at the workplace. Normally a literature study is included to show knowledge level within project area of knowledge. Work is documented in a technical report where emphasis is placed on independent conclusions and analyses. If two students work together, they are jointly responsible for the report and its contents.

Intended learning outcomes

The purpose of the degree project is to give valuable experience of

  • independently dealing with a significant issue while working under realistic conditions
  • documenting work in a systematically constructed report which reveals not only work content but also the ability to write a report readily understood by others
  • orally presenting their work

At least 120 university credits within the programme, plus approved courses within the application area of the degree project.

Based on recommendation from KTH’s coordinator for disabilities, the examiner will decide how to adapt an examination for students with documented disability.
