Content and learning outcomes

Course contents

After the course, the student should be able to:

  • Describe the development and basic principles of the industrial system and work organization
  • Describe and apply principles for work organization and methods for functional integration
  • Explain and distinguish management concepts such as: TQM, lean production and outsourcing
  • Explain principles and models for implementation of change in work organizations
  • Explain different types of team, roles in team and the development process of a group
  • Define, describe and illustrate different types of leadership and leadership models
  • read and explain ones own behaviour in group dynamic processes, as leader and as follower

Intended learning outcomes

The aim of the course in “Work organization and leadership” is to prepare the student for a role as a leader in working life with special attention to preconditions in manufacturing companies.
