Introduction to Work Science, which is an interdisciplinary subject including Industrial ergonomics and Human Factors. Engineers at all levels in an organisation affect task allocation between humans and machines as well as the environment and the well-being of the humans within the technical system. The goal of work science is to contribute to the development of systems that are at the same time good for humans, high performing and efficient.

Learning outcomes
Introduction to Work Science, which is an interdisciplinary subject including Industrial ergonomics and Human Factors. Engineers at all levels in an organisation affect task allocation between humans and machines as well as the environment and the well-being of the humans within the technical system. The goal of work science is to contribute to the development of systems that are at the same time good for humans, high performing and efficient.
Course main content
Work physiology, physical ergonomics, environmental factors, individual and social factors, production- and work organization, work content analysis.
Two written reports, one work place analysis and a literature study of a common work science issue. It may be possible to combine the reports into one larger report for 3 hp.
Eligibility
Specific entrance requiements - course prerequisites in Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry or at least one year of studies at university level in these subjects.

ME2040 /ME2057 Human Factors Engineering, ME2041 Psychology, ME2044 Human Resource Management.
