Course contents

The content of this course is dependent of the interests of the students and changes each year,but it always contains some basics of: logic,set theory,topology,algebra and analysis. But,most important, it contains a lot of training in solving hard mathematical problems.

Intended learning outcomes

A deeper understanding of the meaning of a mathematical proof,an ability to spot errors or weaknesses in mathematical arguments.Some knowledge in the historical evolution and the logical foundations of mathematics.The student should also have developed his ability to solve hard mathematical problems.

SF1602 + SF1603 Calculus II, part 1+2, and SF1604 Linear Algebra is assumed to be studied in parallel.
