The Master’s Programme in Modern Physics lasts for two years and comprises 120 University Credits at advanced (‘second cycle’) level. The language of instruction is English. The Programme consists of a number of compulsory courses, recommended courses divided into three specializations (‘Experimental’, ‘Theoretical’ and ‘Radiation detectors and medical applications’) and a selection of elective courses, as detailed in Appendix 1. The courses are scheduled during the first six periods of the Programme, with a mix of compulsory, specialization and elective courses in each period, as detailed in Appendix 2. Building on the foundation provided by the compulsory courses, and the selected specialization and elective courses, each student will be able to consolidate their expertise in a chosen field of interest. The last two periods in the second year of the Programme are dedicated to the degree project.
