Forms for participation - supporting negotiation of diverse interests and interpretations in planning

Maja Frögård has a background in industrial design with a master’s degree on artistic foundation. She is interested in how our surrounding shapes us and what ideas and values we as designers partake in materialising. This presentation includes thoughts and experiences of working with participation in planning processes with the aim to articulate the potential of a design approach in the planning context. Frögård’s work is part of the Vinnova funded research project ‘Decode: Community Design for Conflicting Desires’, working with challenges of sustainability with focus on social aspects in city planning. Since 2015 she is a PhD candidate at the Konstfack and KTH Royal Institute of Technology’s joint doctoral programme ‘Art, Technology and Design’.

You can contact Maja the week before the seminar to get access to the material.
